Goal:
CTI is a broad collaboration of public and private interests who
pledge to work jointly or independently to encourage communities
to take responsibility for the design and development of strategies
that promote local broadband deployment.
Principles:
Access to high performance digital communications is a fundamental
prerequisite to participation in the global knowledge economy.
Hundreds of communities are creating bold plans,
adopting policies and undertaking innovative public/private partnerships
to extend and enhance local broadband infrastructure.
While CTI is deliberately neutral on which business
models, technologies, and local policy priorities are appropriate
for each unique local market, all communities should establish
a comprehensive and viable broadband strategy.
CTI is dedicated to the idea that each community
must accept formal responsibility for creating a local connectivity
strategy that accelerates the availability of advanced broadband
networks to all members of the community.
